  Existing partition table is not detected

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  When I try to install Xubuntu Precise on a machine with an existing
  dual-boot OS setup (Kubuntu 11.11+XP), I get the message "no existing
  OS detected" and the hard disk is shown as single empty space. The
  option to "modify" the existing partition is grayed-out and I can only
  start with a new partition.

  The disk is partitioned as follows:

  sda1: NTFS (Windows XP)
  sda2: ext4 (/boot)
  sda3: extended partition (holds sda5-7)
  sda4: Fat
  sda5: swap
  sda6: ext4 (/)
  sda7: ext3 (/home)

  I have had this layout since ~Feisty times, and have always upgraded
  by wiping "/" and "/boot" and keeping "/home". Boot loader is Ubuntu's
  GRUB, and both current OSs boot up just fine, so I don't know why
  Precise's installer can't detect the partitioning.
