Looking at apttermlog you seem to have a configuration error in your
/etc/default/grub file.

/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 11: /etc/default/grub: splash: not found^M
run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub exited with return code 127^M
Failed to process /etc/kernel/postinst.d at /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic.postinst line 1010.^M

 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2^M

This is a situation which you'll need to resolve by hand.  However, were
you to attach the file to the bug report I could tell you what
modifications need to be made.
