sudo do-release-upgrade -d
run the release upgrade without any problem with resolconf.
I don't see any raison to mark this report as duplicate with https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989585,
so I remove the link "duplicate bug"

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 989585
resolvconf failed to install/upgrade because /etc/resolv.conf immutable
