Title:
  12.04 Beta 2 fails to complete if there's a .iso copy on another
  partition

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Zsync'd today's 12.04 March 25 in a directory on /dev/sda5.  Pangolin Beta1 installed opn /dev/sda5.
  Copied Beta 2 iso to USB flash memory
  Booted Beta 2 iso from the USB flash memory
  Ran install to /dev/sda12. There's Windoze 7, Meerkat, Pangolin Beta 1 installed on other partitions.
  At almost the end of install:
  Warning - (something) mounted on /dev/sda5, please close the application!
  (Ubiquity was complaining about the zsync'd precise-desktop-i386.iso. I did not boot that .iso, I booted the one on the USB. No reason for ubiquity to be even referencing that file.)
  No way would install complete.
  Rebooted, grub had not been run.
  Booted the Beta 1 and ran grub
  Booted the Beta 2
  Strange, grub.cfg shows 3 consecutive entries for the Beta 2:

  ...
  menuentry "Ubuntu precise (development branch) (12.04) (on /dev/sda11)" --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
          insmod part_msdos
          insmod ext2
          set root='(hd0,msdos11)'
          search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 7d27b84d-35c4-430c-a213-8fd4e7c95c56
          linux /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda11
  }
  menuentry "Ubuntu precise (development branch) (12.04) (on /dev/sda11)" --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
          insmod part_msdos
          insmod ext2
          set root='(hd0,msdos11)'
          search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 7d27b84d-35c4-430c-a213-8fd4e7c95c56
          linux /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-20-generic-pae root=/dev/sda11
  }
  menuentry "Ubuntu precise (development branch) (12.04) (on /dev/sda11)" --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
          insmod part_msdos
          insmod ext2
          set root='(hd0,msdos11)'
          search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 7d27b84d-35c4-430c-a213-8fd4e7c95c56

  }
  ...

  No entry for recovery mode.

  Probably because ubiquity didn't complete, Beta 2 came up, the
  "install" icon was still on the launcher.

  Not a showstopper only because I had other bootable partitions on the
  hard drive so I could recover the Beta 2 failure to run grub.

  This Beta 2 bug has occured on my Acer Aspire 1 notebook and on my
  Compaq Presario tower.
