Public bug reported:

Installed today's Beta candidate went O.K. as far as I could see.

Restart according to the install screen, got:

initramfs

Some message about not being able to get C/H/?? values.

How do I write a launchpad bug from initramfs??

It's a dual hard drive system. Booted onto the first hard drive with
Lucid LTS, then ran update-grub and grub-install. Lucid Grub works fine.
Then booted precise pangolin Beta candidate O.K. from the Lucid Grub2
entry.

One hard drive is IDE, the other a SATA. Lucid Lynx, Meerkat, previous
ubuntu's back to whenever assign the boot hard drive as /dev/sda. Works
perfectly. Pangolin decides the boot hard drive is /dev/sdb and then
gets confused.

>From some past bug experience with Narwhal, Pangolin Grub is looking for
some UUID on the wrong hard drive. Never ever occurs to Pangolin Grub to
look on the other hard drive for that UUID.

Anything I can try to get some useful info?

Jerry
