Can you provide some more details on exactly what you did when this
happened?
The crash in this bug isn't easy to track down as the traceback doesn't
point to a specific part of the installer.
The syslog suggests you may have been upgrading from an older version of
Ubuntu. Knowing exactly what version of Ubuntu was previously installed
and if the architecture was the same as your install media may help
debugging this.
