Title:
Text installer binds swap so cannot repartition

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: apt

This effects 11.04 DVD 64 bit media as well as 10.04.2 alternate
install media of 64 bit architecture

When running the text installer from the DVD media, or using alternate
cd, swapon is run on any md that already exists and has swap
filesystem. (this may occur with any swap partition, not sure tho)

When entering the partitioning tool, you cannot delete md partitions
that were swap filesystem because they have been claimed by the
installer. running swapoff in console does not release the resources.

I would have expected that all hard drive resources would be left free
for partitioning when the installer is started.
