No, this is no longer an issue in Ubuntu because acpi-support no longer
includes any suspend/resume handling.

Title:
  vbetool vbemode get does not work, unary operator expected

Status in “acpi-support” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in “acpi-support” package in Debian:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: acpi-support

  On gutsy, vbetool vbemode get/set does not work on my Thinkpad Z61p
  with fglrx, 2.6.22.1.

  gandalf:~# vbetool vbemode get
  Real mode call failed

  This means, you ought to fix
  /etc/acpi/suspend.d/80-video-vesa-state.sh: line 7: [: !=: unary operator expected
  and
  /etc/acpi/resume.d/17-video-restore.sh: line 6: [: !=: unary operator expected
  Function not supported
  FATAL: Module netconsole not found.

  Adding double quotes around $VBEMODE will at least make error output
  go away, it looks like my laptop does not need vbetool anyway.
