[Bug 956890] [NEW] GDebi doesn't handle apturl

Public bug reported:

I'm trying to open apturls in Firefox (i.e.
http://apt.ubuntu.com/p/firefox or apt://firefox) with gdebi-gtk, not
with Ubuntu Software Center - but this doesn't work: GDebi appears, but
it doesn't load a file. On the other hand I can install (already
downloaded) deb-files without problem via GDebi. Is this feature
disabled together with the (former) possibility to add PPAs via apturl?
If so, why does USC distinguish between both and GDebi not?

Ubuntu 11.10, gdebi 0.8.1

** Affects: gdebi (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
