Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Title:
speaker fails after resume from hibernate on Lenovo Thinkpad T400
Status in “upstart” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I Installed ubuntu 9.04 X64 from DVD , and applied the latest update.
How ever I found a bug with the hibernate function. I tried hibernate and resume , everything works fine except the speaker. The speaker is mute no matter what I do in ubuntu.
Things are a little tricky here . Although the speaker wont sound , but if I plug in a headphone , I can hear the sound . I searched the internet and tried cli command " sudo alsa force-reload " , it says :

I don't know whether it is good to see that . But what happen is no matter how I mute and un-mute the sound , or I change the master volume , the speaker remain silence , and the headphone remains good.
And , the device I'm using is HDA Intel ( Alsa mixer ) which I found from the volume control pannel.
Things is fixed like this : I boot my T400 with vista (which I have
not delete yet for something like this which I hope it wont happen but
it happened) , and I see the vista recognize the sound as mute
condition . Simply change mute to un-mute in Vista wont work neither ,
I have to un-mute and play a song from vista , and then I reboot to
ubuntu , speaker works fine now .
This bug annoying me most , sine my laptop use hibernate and resume a
lot , if every time I have to reboot to vista to fix it then I have to
change my habit to shutdown rather than hibernate , that is bad...
Hope u guys can fix this , thanx a
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
