Title:
ubuntu installer crashed when almost completed

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
None of the suggestions fitted my case.
I pre-formatted a clean 20GB partition using XT3? and everything going fine until almost finished.
I don't know whether I shall be able to re-access this partition or not - it may need to be re-formatted and start again.
This partition originally held ubuntu 10.10 but this became corrupted when I re-organised my hard disk to accept Windows 8 Customer Preview. However, I formatted it twice to ensure that it was absolutely clean before installing ubuntu 11.10.

I am not sure whether the fault was due to a bug in the installation
file - that's just how it was reported to me. Please see the
  launchpad report.

Please explain any procedures fully as I am not a computer expert.
