Ok, 
I've tried to run the upgrade, but this time the upgrader just crashed without warnings or texts of any kind, and it had deactivated the natty sources and added this one instead

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu oneiric

So I've deselected this, and reactivated the natty sources, and re-run
the updater, which gave me the "usual" error message.

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  The update from 11.04 to 11.10 does not succeed, searched for similar bugs, they were due to a nvidia xorg package (nouveau), but I don't have it. The logs are enclosed, I guess it is due to a given package, but I can't find it.
