  $ cdrecord -version

  *I first tried to burn using n-c-b or k3b, the burning process went
  flawlessly, but the resulting CD, once re-inserted appears as blank.

  * Using the command line to burn with wodim does not fix the issue.
  * burning with the left over version of cdrecord, burn without any issue and the resulting CD is correct.
