[Bug 946953] Re: 'Permission denied' when using a windows share

I did some more testing :
- It is not a configuration problem: I tried with 'custom location' and copy/pasted the URI from Nautilus, same result (permission denied, without asking for a password).
- the problem is specific to a share which is hosted on an EMC array. Specifying a share on a windows box works fine.
- A colleague running OpenSuse 12.1 (64) is having the same error trying to mount that share in Nautilus.

So, I now think the problem might not be related to deja-dup, or ubuntu
for that matter.

** Package changed: deja-dup (Ubuntu) => samba (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- 'Permission denied' when using a windows share
+ 'Permission denied' when mounting a windows share on an EMC array

Title:
'Permission denied' when mounting a windows share on an EMC array

Status in “samba” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hi,

I'm having trouble telling deja-dup to send backups to a windows share.
First, there is no 'share' field like there is in Nautilus. I tried "share/path" and "/share/path" with the same result : deja-dup doesn't ask for a password and immediately says 'Permission Denied'.
I then tried 'custom location', giving it a URI like "smb://domain;user@server/share/path". Same result.

There is no problem with the windows share as it mounts perfectly in
  Nautilus.

  Any idea ?
