Title:
update-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in PyEval_EvalFrameEx()

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I was trying to recreate bug 938116 and encountered this bug.

  Test case:
  1) expand details in update-manager package list
  2) change your mirror in settings
  3) apply
  4) watch update-manager crash

Interestingly, the crash will be unreportable because, I believe, the
package cache is updating and apt-cache policy for update-manager
  shows:

  update-manager:
    Installed: 1:0.156.7
    Candidate: 1:0.156.7
