Title:
gnome-session removed during partial upgrade to Precise Beta1
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
In Progress
Bug description:
During a partial upgrade to Precise Beta1 last night, update-manager
removed a large number of packages, including gnome-session. The
machine would boot to the login screen, but logging in (with the
correct password) would simply return to the login screen again with
no error message. The login screen also gave no options for different
sessions (Ubuntu, Ubuntu 2D, etc).
