Public bug reported:
RELEASE OF UBUNTU:
Ubuntu precise (development branch)
Release: 12.04
NOTE: I did an .iso download of 12.04 for PC March 04, 2012.
WHAT I EXPECT TO HAPPEN:
1. I expect that when I choose "logout" from the desktop, I will be taken out of the desktop, and to the login screen with various user accounts (or the main user and guest login option)
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:
After installing and anytime since then, when I am in Ubuntu and I click
to "log out" ... I am taken to the login screen with usernames down the
left (including the Guest login option). That is all good.
Then, if I try to move my mouse around it pauses, sticks and is jittery.
Sometimes half-second long pauses, sometimes three seconds long. etc. If
I were to move my mouse slowly from left to right (or any direction) it
would jerk every quarter inch or so. As if on a grid. But never so
precise. More random but overall approximately a quarter inch with slow
mouse movements.
To replicate: I start Ubuntu 12.04 (beta 1) on a hard drive install.
(not virtual and not just a live CD)
Once on Desktop, I then choose to logout with the mouse (top right
corner of desktop on the round cog icon/power button?)
It logs out and then I get the sticky mouse problem.
This is the only time this happens and it happens the whole time this
screen is showing (login screen) not just at the beginning of it or
anything.
I thought it might be apps closing down in background after logout but
it goes on like this forever. Hours later I discovered after coming back
to the screen after work.
