Public bug reported:
12.04 Beta 1. fresh install. dell vostro 130. pretty standard stuff. 300GB partition behind Win7. reports that grub-pc fails to install onto /target/ . on the error log, there are lots of warnings that it could not find the right packages. unfortunately, the error log does not have a "page up" functionality so that I can see the first few errors.
On another console, I tried to apt-install grub2 and grub, but nothing
seems to work. I get errors I do not understand, such as failing grub-
probe, and incorrect usage of grub-installer. I could not figure out
how to do a manual grub install at this point, either, and I cannot
reboot, of course. so, this is a showstopper for me.
** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
