Ok, confirmed that the behaviour is at least consistent and isn't a
regression.
I agree this screen could do with some love, so moving the bug to
wishlist. I don't think it's a good idea to try and fix for 12.04 as
we're way past feature freeze and UI freeze but it's definitely worth
considering for 12.10 probably talking to design for suggestions of what
to do with all that blank space (big logo?).

Bug description:
With no network:
1. Press a key at startup (for getting gfxboot)
2. select "French"
3. select "install now"
4. Wait the session to start and ubiquity to load
-> I can see "Bienvenue", "Français" selected, but no introduction text (blank content on the right), no "try or install" (as already chosen), no release note (as no network), but it looks weird
Then, Quitter, Précédent, Continuer.
Maybe a text like "welcome to…" should at least appear?
