This bug is reported since 2010, it still exists. I tried to install
12.04 with Xubuntu and Kubuntu. The partitions are not correctly
recognized and weird partition names get displayed. You can not get past
the partitioner, if you try to do so, your existing partitions will be
destroyed and you end up with an unusable installation.

Binary package hint: ubiquity
Installation procedure fails using Desktop Natty ISO 3. Mainly, the
package ubi-partman reports this crash during the installation
process. Additionally, the installer was not able to finish the
installation process.
