omapdrm has been enabled in Debian (and synced to Ubuntu), and
discussions are ongoing with X maintainers about the safety of updating
libdrm to newer versions (seems there was some recent nvidia breakage
again, or something)

Title:
Enable omap experimental support
Status in “libdrm” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
hi,
since libdrm 2.6.33, experimental support for OMAP DRM has been merged
upstream, so we now need to update the packaging in ubuntu to build
this -omap package. that basically should require to enable "--enable-
omap-experimental-api" in the makefile and add "libdrm-omap1" in the
control file.
thx
