Title:
parted gpt partitioning error does not allow for 3072KB of needed
space must go back and repartition durring install

Status in “parted” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Happens when a disk is given a GPT partition table with gparted and
then Clicked on install parted does not recognize a GPT partition
table and therefore does not allow for adequate space for boot or
partition table files in a unpartitioned area approx. 3072KB of empty
(no partition) space at front or end of drive.

Xubuntu and Lubuntu 12.04 (development branch)

  parted:
    Installed: 2.3-8ubuntu5
    Candidate: 2.3-8ubuntu5
    Version table:
   *** 2.3-8ubuntu5 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Format ext4 partition with enough space for the boot/partition table
  files durring install.

Did not format with necessary space had to resize with enough space
using gparted on the live cd: approx. 3072KB needed.
