Bug description:
  This was just after a new install of Xubuntu 10.04.4 on a Compaq
  Presario SR1053WM that has a replacement HD with only 4.3GB (at this
  point the partition is about 74% full and about 960MB free.)

  I am using the older version because I ran into problems with 12.04
  caused by an earlier HD in this PC.
