  Binary package hint: update-manager

  W:Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/main/source/Sources.gz  Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)
  , E:Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

  I am using Linux 8.10 and kernal 2.6.27-15.  I tried to download 9.04
  using the onboard "Update Manager" when, after about 6 hours, it
  failed.
