In order to install Xubuntu12.04, I downloaded and burned the
xubuntu11.10-iso. Installed xubuntu11.10 from the live-cd. Then I
requested a distribution-upgrade. Xubuntu12.04 runs smooth now on my
oldie! (CPU Model: Athlon XP (Palomino) with  Mem:     652271616 ram.

  Tried a clean install of xubuntu12.04 from the live-cd. Live-cd is ok,
  because installation was successful on another pc. After some time the
  installer stops due to a fatal error.
