Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Both Jaunty and Karmic reached EOL (on October 23, 2010 and April 30, 2011).
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
If you still have this issue when trying to upgrade your installation,
it would be the best to backup your data and just install a recent
version of Ubuntu (instead of updating).
I will close this report (due to the EOL of Jaunty and Karmic).
