Title:
usb port lost power while large file transfer
Status in “udev” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Continuous transfer large files via ethernet on BeagleBoard xm Rev C
by Samba server can cause ethernet and usb unresponsive.
The bug is about the unstable usb driver or ethernet driver. It
probably the usb driver.
Specifically, I was transferring a 2GB file over ethernet by samba
server to beagle xM. The destination is a usb hard driver conencted to
Beagle xM usb port. After 10-20 min, beagleboard will lost connection
to either ethernet or usb hard drive. There will be no response from
SSH terminal of beagleboard.
Same error just keeps happening. In the other way, my windows computer
trying to download a large file from the Beagleboard samba server, and
after half an hour, the board just lost connection. The LEDs on the
ethernet port stop blinking and off. Rest the board will bring
ethernet and sub connectivity back, but can happen again, after large
file transfering.
This bug has been reproduced on Ubutnu 11.10 armel and 12.04 armhf
platform.
// This bug is duplicate of Bug# 1007651. I create this because I
don't know how to upload diagnostic file separately from another
computer with the previous bug number. I'll mark it as a duplicate
bug.
