Title:
ubiquity is not able to handle free disk space

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I use the Ubuntu12.10 Quantal daily amd64 live cd 22.7.2012.

On Installation Type screen I have freed arround 400GB from an ext3
partition which is original created by a SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop
  11 SP2 system.

The problem is that the free space could not handeled by the
installation sysytem as new residence for the Ubuntu system.

I attach a screenshot for this.

All buttons for handling this unused space are greyed out.

So, a dual boot solution is not creatable in this way.

  Steps to reproduce

1.Have a system with installed SLED11SP2, full diskspace is used by ext3 partitions.
2.A separate home partition in the SLE11SP2 is there.
3.Schrink the home partition to free space.
4.See that the free space is called unben. ->german system
  5.Select the unben. with mouse
6.See that all buttons are grzed out for no usage with the exeption of revert.
7.No menu is available in the partition dialog that allow to use the free space.
