Title:
update warnings on kernel3.5.0-5 installation on usb drive - error
  code 2

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I am running Quantal from a usb drive, prepared with usb-
  creator(latest on Ubuntu12.04-proposed).

The latest updates I give to the usb Quantal system gives follwing
  terminal output(sudo apt-get dist-upgrade):

  linux-image-3.5.0-5-generic (3.5.0-5.5) wird eingerichtet ...
  Running depmod.

  Steps to reproduce:

1.Create a bootable usb stick deployed with Ubuntu12.10. Use for this usb-creator from a Ubuntu12.04 platform.
2.Insert the prepared usb-drive in a computer you want to run with this stick and choose in the bootoptions right after computer powen on to start from usb.
3.See Quantal comming up from the usb-drive(use live mode when it ask - all sessions data/new information will be saved to the stick automatically)
  4.Open a terminal
  5.sudo apt-get update
  6.sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
7.See the warnings/errors like the shown above

  Additional:

cryptsetup: WARNING: failed to detect canonical device of overlayfs
cryptsetup: WARNING: could not determine root device from /etc/fstab

are surely caused by the usb installation. I have not set up a /home
or other encryptions to the sytem.
