Here mtp-detect also takes a long time, about 1 minute. It's a galaxy
nexus with android 4.0.4, stock.
andreas at nsn7:~$ time mtp-detect 2>&1 | tee mtp-detect.log

Bug description:
Android 4 will not support anymore usb mass-storage protocol. However,
there is an easy way to access the files on such devices for advanced
users using mtp-tools and adjusted udev-rules:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/12/how-to-connect-your-android-ice-
cream-sandwich-phone-to-ubuntu-for-file-access/ . Ubuntu Precise
Pangolin (12.04) should be prepared for Android ICS devices and grant
easy access to music and pictures and other files to all users.
