Title:
dpkg-configure offers to boot when degraded, however it doesn't update
the grub config to include the bootdegraded=true flag

Status in “mdadm” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The post-install configuration/dpkg-reconfigure mdadm offers to allow
the user to boot using a degraded raid. However, it never actually
updates the grub configuration to reflect this. The only work around
  is to manually update /etc/default/grub
