Title:
crytptab man page should mention running update-initramfs

Status in “cryptsetup” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/en/man5/crypttab.5.html

That man page should mention running `update-initramfs -c -k all'.
The reason is that some of the content of crypttab is copied into the
initramfs. Consequently you can end up changing the file itself over
and over and it has no effect until the initramfs is next rebuilt.

As far as I can tell the content that is copied is the root file
  system and swap.
