Public bug reported:
its a two part bug I am not shure if its a ubuntu or upstream bug, but
somebody will tell me:
1. I did not install this system directly to the target drive (ssd) I first installed the hole system to a softwareraid level 1 which contains of a usb3 drive and a sata drive (2 hds). I now copied all the boot/root/home data to a ssd with rsync -ax.
And then grub-install <ssd-drive>; grub-update (in the ssd-chroot)
I have only ssd related stuff in my fstab on this hdd.
2. after it did not boot with connected hard drivers from the new ssd, I did aktivate text-console in grub conf... when I then tried again booting, I saw what hindered my grub to boot from my ssd. It says that the raid is degraded and ask me if I want to boot anyway. If I say yes and then in the innitrd I type in exit it boots.
now the 2 points that I think are wrong here:
1. It should only ask that if it should boot anyway if the rootfs is on
the swraid, which is not.
2. Why is Grub telling me that the softwareraid is degraded when Linux
tells me:
md0 : active raid1 sdc1[2] sda1[0]
625129336 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
directly after rebooting. A rsync would take some hours not 1 minute.
So do you have an idea why grub things that my system is still on the mdadm raid1, and secondly why does it think that my raid1 is degregated (out of sync)
maybe the problem is that one of the drives is a usb3 device?
But if I boot from that raid, it boots straight without detecting a
degrated state.
