Title:
[Precise] btrfs-tools much too old for kernel features
Status in “btrfs-tools” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
The btrfs-tools package that comes with precise is
0.19+20100601-3ubuntu3, (2010 !) which, given the pace of BTRFS
development, is much older than the current BTRFS version that the
kernel supports.
This results in several issues among which :
- Unable to convert back to ext4 a filesystem that has been converted
from ext4 to BTRFS then mounted (btrfs-convert -r will state the
volume has unsupported features, and then segfault)
- btrfsck is unusable : will state the volume has unsupported
features, and then segfault.
Please update the btrfs-tools package to a decently recent version,
corresponding to the BRFS features that the kernel actually
implements.
