Bug description:
If a local package file gets installed and the installation fails
aptdaemon will show an unknown error. The installation of a local
package can fail because e.g. it is of the wrong type, bad quality or
the wrong architecture (32bit vs 64bit).
This error has been fixed in aptdaemon. Nowadays the correct error
(package manager failed) gets shown.
If you are running on Ubuntu Maverick, please enable the proposed
updates and update your machine.
Alternatively you can try to install the corresponding package from the command line:
sudo dpkg -i PACKAGE_FILE
If you still have problems installing packages contact the provider of
the packages or the forums.
