   Thanks for all the work you're doing!!

The actions taken to produce the problem:
    I was doing an install on the hard drive.  I manually configure the 
hard drive to a 200GB partition for the O/S, a 4GB partition for swap, 
and the rest for /home.  I also configured for the boot loader to be on 
these same drive

Whether or not it is possible to for the reporter to reproduce the bug:
   I tried to repeat the install leaving everything at it's defaults 
(left hard drive to the installer to configure) except for installing 
the loader to the same drive, I had received a different error.  This 
error was something to effect of "can not write to drive.  drive may be 
full or source disk corrupt"  I then used gparted to reconfigure the 
drive and came up with the same error message about "not being able to 
write to drive."  I can get the exact error message if you would like.  
I won't touch the system till I hear back.

An install of xubuntu.

The actual result of these actions:
  A hard drive which needs a low level format

helpful, I can reconfigure the drive and see if I can repeat the problem.

Notes:
   The hard drive is a 2TB Hitachi with a SATA 6GB interface daughter 
board (ASUS U3S6)  The bios does not recognize the USB 3 ports though it 
does see the SATA 6GB ports.

The install media in not corrupt.

Please let me know how you would like me to proceed. I can provide full 
system details and make it available for test.
