Sorry for the 3 comments above, I was testing the new QA integration
code and this bug was unlucky enough to be my random target. Testing is
now done and as you can see successful.

  Gdk-CRITICAL errors output when updating from command line

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Clean oneiric system.
  From command linetype:  update-manager
  Resulted in flood of messages that indicated something is going wrong:

  Update worked ok,  but seeing all these messages is a bit worrying.  
  There were no log files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/
