I'll need /var/log/installer/syslog and preferably also
/var/log/installer/partman in order to have a hope of debugging this.
Could you please attach them?

Title:
Ubiquity uses grub-efi instead of grub-pc on non-GPT disk
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
a user installed Ubuntu in dual-boot with Windows on a non-GPT computer.
The default installation failed (no access to Ubuntu), and broke access to Windows.
Here is the Boot-Info-Script summary after installation:
- stable: http://paste.ubuntu.com/803082
- GIT version: http://paste.ubuntu.com/803319/
It seems that Ubiquity should have installed grub-pc instead of grub-
efi.
