trying to install directly resulted in more or less same situation -
ubiquity hangs at some point and the installation is unuseable. The
point when it hangs/freezes seems to be the same but I cant figure out
to find out when. Thus I changed the heading.

I have tried in virtual box as well as real system - same issue.

This is a blocker - I cant test ubuntu 12.04 even if I wanted to...

  I've added this bug to be sure it is noticed that this is against
  12.04.

  To reproduce:
  - mythbuntu amd64 daily from usb live session
  - install ubuntu on existing partition that should be overwritten
