Title:
  10.04 upgrade fails on python-central

Status in “python-central” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: python-central

Upgrading to 10.04, the installer hung on "Setting up python-central".
After half an hour I had to open a terminal and kill the "python-
central" process, after which the installer continued but with many
errors due to the failed python-central install. Later it hung again
setting up python-central and I had to kill the process again.

To recover I had to reboot into the recovery kernel boot, connect up
to Ethernet instead of wifi, and run 'dpkg --configure -a'. This was a
  disaster of an upgrade procedure.

My only guess as to why python-central failed is that the Wifi
connection was disabled during the upgrade procedure. Was python-
central perhaps trying to do some socket comms?
