Title:
Better handling of upgrade failures caused by PPA

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

Many upgrade failures reported during upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 are caused by packages installed from PPAs.
A very common PPA is xorg-edgers.

Update manager should at least manage this specific case and determine
if a package from xorg-edgers is blocking the upgrade, or better, it
should report to the user if a non-official package from any PPA and
which package is blocking the upgrade.
