[Bug 911225] Re: grub-update: bad 'grep' and 'lvs' invocations

Ok so this is a grub issue.  Grub is incorrectly using grep to look for
content in the file it has also connected to its output.  Although grep
is in silent mode this is still not permitted.  Will spin a patch to
clear that up.
