Title:
problem upgrading Ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 in update manager

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When trying to update Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 12.04, I just ALT-F2 and typed ' sudo update-manager -d' and followed the instructions when update manager opened up and said new distribution available Ubuntu 12.04. While the upgrade was running I get this error:
"E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

   This can be caused by:
   * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu"

I am running a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04LTS with all of the
updates installed. Nothing else is installed on my system. Why do I
  get this error?
