The dir was at every time completly empty!
I checked this before, while and after the update process.

Ater reboot 162 new updates available...
Check for new (168) and downloaded this 6 and the new plus the missing from the last update process where installed.
'blueman-applet' crashed (as every update)
No further problems accured, the update process finished and i can now reboot.

Directory /var/log/dist-upgrade still empty...

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I installed in Virtualbox Precise Alpha2 (64 bit Desktop).
  After the reboot a red icon appeared and updates where not possible.
  If i tried to do updates, i got this message window:

  Es konnte nicht ermittelt werden, welche Systemaktualisierungen verfügbar sind

  Ein unlösbares Problem ist während der Berechnung der
  Systemaktualisierung aufgetreten.

  Melden Sie eine Fehler im »update-manager« und fügen Sie die folgende Fehlermeldung an den Fehlerbericht an:
  'E:Fehler: Unterbrechungen durch pkgProblemResolver::Resolve hervorgerufen; dies könnte durch zurückgehaltene Pakete verursacht worden sein.'
  "

  I was able to install the driver for the virtual box (extra icon) but
  every time i try to install updates with the manager i got this error.
