Hi, I've got the same problem on a Dell 2950 server - no batteries
installed save for those in the RAID cards, so it doesn't look to be
isolated to laptops. The machine in question worked fine until oneiric
install, and shows the problem after a variable amount of time, could be
minutes possibly hours/days

Going to try James' patch

  the segv was created by me sending a kill -11. but the 100% cpu is
  unbarable
