Please try executiing "sudo apt-get install -f"" in a terminal and tell
us if it solves the problem

  I am getting the following message in the terminal after giving the command:
   sudo apt-get install -f

  Hmm, seems like the AutoRemover destroyed something which really
  shouldn't happen. Please file a bug report against apt.
