I saw this again with a Precise Live CD - it happens towards the end of
the boot process before switching the Try Ubuntu / Install Ubuntu
screen.

Bug description:
  This was discovered when booting an Oneiric daily build from 20110831
  - the i386 Ubuntu CD image.

  During the boot splash screen a cursor appears at the end of the ....
  line and started blinking.  I managed to capture a screenshot of it
  and it is attached.
