Sorry, it took me too long and now the problem seems to solved after
today's updates. For the history, the directory /var/log/dist-upgrade is
now empty, so there is nothing to attach!

Bug description:
  I was trying to upgrade kubuntu 10.10 to 11.04 and on the installing
  updated packages stage I clicked on show terminal and then suddenly
  the installation exited with error code 1.
