Public bug reported:
Plymouth sometimes fails to display on this hybrid graphics laptop.
This appears to be because the ordering of which drm device (i915,
radeon) comes up first is not deterministic. Plymouth appears to bind
to the first device which comes up. If the radeon comes up first, this
results in no output, as the radeon card isn't connected to any output
devices.
The kernel is aware of this, and switches the VTs to the i915's
framebuffer when it appears (if it comes up second).
X always comes up on the right device (ie: the Intel).
The attached dmesg comes from a boot where radeon loaded first and
plymouth was not displayed.
