Thats what it seems, yes. When you installed that it brought many KDE dependencies with it. Thats what is causing the conflicts now.

Title:
Update from 11.04 to 11.10 fails with pkgProblemResolver

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The update from 11.04 to 11.10 does not succeed, searched for similar bugs, they were due to a nvidia xorg package (nouveau), but I don't have it. The logs are enclosed, I guess it is due to a given package, but I can't find it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
  Y.
